Kasper Quaink is a graphic designer and type designer based in Arnhem, the Netherlands. He has a particular focus on design education, typographic works, alongside book design, visual research, experimental workshops and tool making.
He runs his own freelance practice and is a part of K.C ⇄ Q, a design duo led by K.Chen (Kuan-Ting Chen) and Kasper Quaink (K.Q.). Concentrating on the intersection of experimental and collaborative typography, together they organise (mostly) analogue-based workshops utilising a diverse selection of materials and methods to explore the potential of typography alongside workshop participants. He is part of Clothes Press, a small distribution/publishing house, focussing on critical fashion practices. He is a co-founder of the collective local:local, a creative space which hosts events, workshops, lectures, and much more. On fridays he works at HKU, utrecht as a Workshop tutor in bookbinding & typography.
Kasper did his apprenticeship where he worked on various self-initiated typefaces under the guidance of Edgar Walthert. He graduated with a Bachelor of Graphic Design from ArtEZ University of the Arts, Arnhem in 2023. During his studies he was part of the TypeClub 530, a student initiated type collective hosting experimental typography workshops for everyone and anyone interested in type.
